Summary:

Responsible for all inventory allocations and transactions for any adjustments, Sales Order fulfillment, inventory issuing, and Purchase Order receiving. Responsible for planning, executing and reconciling weekly inventory cycle counting. Allocate inventory and create shipment schedules for all Microwave sales orders by coordinating, prioritizing, and supporting all other operational functions to expedite delivery. Work with the Quality Control manager for planning the test schedule to ensure any compliance issues are resolved and certifications and compliance documents accompany the shipment. Coordinate with the purchasing department to minimize inventory on hand while ensuring inventory is available for production schedules.

What You'll Do:

  • Managing a team of three people including a shipper, a kitter/receiver, and a materials handler in order to ensure inventory accountability, the on-time supply of kitted inventory to the production team, and the delivery of products to Norsat customers in accordance with the shipping schedule;
  • Creating manufacture order numbers and issuing inventory material and labor time calculations for product modifications and new development for the Microwave division;
  • Inventory adjustments in the ERP system for any discrepancies with inventory on hand;
  • Issuing of inventory to MO's used by Production and Engineering for the Satellite Division;
  • When required, working together with the configuration manager in setting up and managing the structure and function of inventory part numbers in the ERP system;
  • Working closely with the accounting team for any discrepancies or issues with the use of GL codes, sales order fulfillment issues, invoicing, credit issuing, and inventory adjustments;
  • Responsible for creating and refining processes in bi-weekly inventory cycle counting and year-end inventory counting;
  • Responsible for coordinating the count of bi-weekly inventory cycle counting and year-end inventory counting;
  • Responsible for reconciling any discrepancies during the count;
  • Help to develop and refine ERP/MRP processes;
  • Maintaining a well-organized, safe, and clean warehouse for efficient operations;
  • Other tasks and duties may be assigned.
What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory experience;
  • A valid forklift license is an asset;
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, and Microsoft NAV is a plus;
  • Experience with FedEx and UPS terminals is highly desirable;
  • Experience in preparing Custom/brokers paperwork for importation/exportation into/from Canada and US/International shipments;
  • Experience with inventory control;
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.
