Job Title: Logistics ManagerLocation: Barrie, OntarioShift Time: 8:00am to 4:30pmTerms: Permanent Full-TimeSalary: TBDReports To: President / Leadership TeamJob Purpose:To manage and develop e-commerce opportunities that will include warehousing, transportation (courier and LTL), client transitioning, carrier relationships and procurement and quotations for clients.Providing pricing tariffs for new and existing customers, respond to RFP\xe2\x80\x99s, participate in customer discovery calls, and establish annual GRI\xe2\x80\x99s. Source additional service providers while creating a buying strategy that considers the company budget and necessary pricing strategies and then matching vendors to meet customer demands and expectations.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and direct logistic processes and establish ongoing improvement plans for freight management, vendor routing, and carrier management.
  • Monitor performance metrics for transportation, shipping and receiving.
  • Screen, analyze, and report on weekly and monthly logistics key performance indicators along with implementing process improvements wherever possible.
  • Align with senior leadership to develop the company\xe2\x80\x99s short and long-term goals/projects, and then plan logistics strategically to enable the achievement of those goals.
  • Evaluate standard warehousing and fulfillment procedures for White Glove, Courier, and LTL such as receiving, picking, and packing, for speed, efficiency, and quality of throughput.
  • Manage carrier implementations and establish service level agreements to ensure services are delivered as promised.
  • Handling e-commerce, quoting, and integration in collaboration with senior leadership in request for proposal (RFP), and request for quote (RFQ) processes.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers
  • Oversees Application Programming Interface and Electronic Data Interchange technologies
  • Participate in the full cycle of the onboarding and account maintenance process for new clients.
  • Regularly meet and evaluate service partners ensuring they continue to meet company needs
  • Continuously optimizing operations and finding effective ways to both reduce spending and enhance the customer experience.
  • Organize staff training, development, and performance reviews.
Professional & Educational Background:
  • 10-15 years of experience in Freight Forwarding and 3PL industry is required.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in supply chain management , transportation, economics, business administration, project management, or a similar field is required.
  • Strong experience in e-commerce, quoting, negotiation and integration is required.
  • The designation Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or registration in the educational program of the Supply Chain Management Association is considered an asset.
  • Lean & Six Sigma certifications considered an asset is considered an asset.

  • Technical: Extensive understanding and application of logistics software and warehouse management systems
