Position Summary
This position is responsible to ensure that all standards and policies for inbound and
outbound logistics are properly implemented and maintained across various inhouse
departments, customers, and external service providers. This position would manage
the flow of cargo to and from our warehouse facilities and customers facilities, and
seaports using our in-house warehouse management Systems (WMS). This position will also be responsible to drive process improvement and maintain SOP's with logistics service providers, ocean carriers, drayage carriers.
This role acts as the main liaison between Asante, customers, and external service providers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Work across our internal departments, customers, and other logistics providers to diagnose and resolve issues impacting the flow of products.
Coordinate with logistics providers and warehouse locations to ensure adequate capacity.
Maintain accurate delivery status of all purchase orders in WMS.
Maintain accurate delivery status of all sales orders in WMS.
Maintain accurate inventory of all products in our warehouse facilities using WMS.
Coordination and prioritization of all daily receipts into warehouse.
Identify and lead projects to implement procedures to reduce cost, transit time and improve system accuracy/compliance.
Supporting and executing solid day-to-day inbound operational actions (including but not limited to shipment planning, customs clearance, drayage, transload, truck & rail); ensuring the successful movement of goods to and from our facilities into the customer networks.
Continuously collaborating within the Global Logistics team, as well as across the broader Global Supply Chain teams, and with various partners to effectively service internal customers, delivering all freight/product on time and in a cost-effective manner with minimal delays or service failures.
Prioritizing transportation-related tasks to optimize velocity and improve the predictability of cargo arrivals; executing the inbound operational plan on a consistent basis and ensuring a high degree of follow through on all assigned areas of responsibility.
Facilitating daily on-going correspondence between internal departments and customers: ensuring scheduled procedures are followed, timely delivery to our warehouse and customers.
Ensure all requests for information are being responded to quickly and accurately to prevent delays and mitigate failures.
Collaborating with customers on daily operations (including but not limited to resource allocations such as space, labour, equipment etc) and performing necessary troubleshooting; ensuring risks are mitigated and/or communicated to the proper parties in advance of negatively impacting the business.
Monitoring and resolving cargo movement related EDI data discrepancies and errors to ensure accurate and timely information; communicating discrepancies to appropriate parties to ensure proactive and additional planning can occur where required/able
Utilizing dashboards & reporting tools to proactively track and trace workflow activities; ensuring strong, consistent, and reliable operational execution; assisting with inbound and outbound logistical delays and ensuring accurate and timely communication to the business.
Collaborating daily with local inbound and outbound cargo handling teams to ensure a seamless transition of freight and operational responsibilities; facilitating strong communication between all supply chain teams to support fluid and streamlined supply chain operations
In partnership with the Managers of Inbound and Outbound Logistics, ensuring timely communication of disruptions to the appropriate internal parties;
proactively providing solutions to mitigate delays and customer risk as needed
Developing and implementing new operational processes/enhancements that facilitate greater efficiencies within the department and supply chain; specifically fostering enhancements to cost, speed and service for our internal/external customers.

Education And / Or Experience
A Bachelor's or Diploma in supply chain management or related subject is preferred
2+ years of logistics and supply chain experience with strength in warehouse management system software operations and full coordination of logistics.
Leadership and ability to work independently.

Location: This individual must reside or plan to relocate within commuting distance from our headquarters in Truro, Nova Scotia.
