- Ensure all loads are shipped efficiently and timely, adhering to documented processes. This includes selecting the appropriate mode of transportation, meeting contractual requirements, tendering orders, and tracking shipments from pickup to delivery.
- Engage in regular and proactive communication with customers via phone and email to follow up on current load activity and discuss future shipment needs.
- Utilize CargoWise software for managing shipments, tracking, and data entry to ensure seamless operations and accurate record-keeping.
- Communicate daily with dispatchers and drivers to monitor loads in transit and ensure delivery commitments are met. Maintain accurate data entry records.
- Meet targeted customer service, on-time pickup and delivery, and service quality standards while achieving cost reduction and freight savings objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contracted carriers and new transportation partners to ensure competitive pricing and reliable capacity throughout the year.
- Stay updated on industry news and data to proactively address developments that could impact ability to transport customer goods.
- Immediately inform customers and management of any shipment delays or issues.
- Collaborate with local and company management to resolve any issues promptly.
- Follow all company policies and procedures. Adhere to all state/provincial, federal, and local regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the Canadian and cross-border truckload and less-than-truckload markets, including routing options, seasonal freight flows, and pricing strategies.
- 3-5 years of experience in Freight Brokerage or Logistics Coordination/Dispatching in 3PL and LTL environments in the Transportation industry
- Proven knowledge of container drayage and air freight transportation
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Proven written and oral communication skills
- Experience with specialized Dispatch and Transportation Management Software (CargoWise preferred), and Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated "Can-Do" attitude and ability to work effectively on a small and cohesive teamSummary
