Logistics Coordinator \xe2\x80\x93 Canadian FlatbedsPermanent full-timeMilton, OntarioFull We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to work independently between our specialized freight department and our brokerage division. You are a self-starter that works well within a team but thrives in an independent work environment. You have experience in obtaining permits and the legal requirements and/or restrictions of specialized freight. At times you will be called upon to help your teammates in other departments, so having the ability to adapt to changing environments is a must, and a flexible work habit is what it takes to get the job done. Job Responsibilities

Work with the logistics team to safely and efficiently meet the required daily activities
Compile route assignments and dispatch drivers
Track, trace, and update the status of shipments
Strong understanding of State/Provincial laws relating to load restrictions of heavy haul
Be responsive to day-to-day issues, take proactive role in improvement initiatives and be a high-performing team player
Analyzing and optimizing logistical procedures
Communicating with customers and responding to their queries (via phone, email or fax) in a professional and timely manner
Prepare accurate reports for upper management
Provide additional backup support to other team members after hours, as needed
Maintain positive working relationship with all coworkers, drivers, management, and customers
Establish a carrier base for new and existing accounts
Price negotiations for 3PL services
Contact with existing and new carriers to determine availability and negotiate transportation rates
Research and understand markets trends, changes, and seasonality as per the type of industry
Communicate with clients and carriers daily to negotiate rates plan movement
Work in tandem with the internal team members to ensure client satisfaction
Requirements and Skills
2+ years of trucking industry and/or dispatch experience is an asset
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Logistics and Transportation (preferred)
Knowledge of transportation and logistics software, such as PC Miler and Load Link, will be considered an asset
Excellent communication skills, organizational skills and time management skills
Demonstrated ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively
Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations
Good command of MS Office operating systems (Excel, Word and Outlook) with an ability to quickly learn new operating platforms/systems
Knowledge of different transportation laws and regulations within Canada and the USA
Experience working with heavy haul will be an asset
