Your Role As the Logistics Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the shipping and movement of commodities by truck and rail in the most efficient manner while expediting the execution of contractual commitments.Day to Day
  • Ensure precise execution of contractual commitments.
  • Run outstanding contract reports and manage monthly purchase and sales movement accordingly.
  • Communicate with external customers to discuss and assess shipping and scheduling needs.
  • Determine and select the most economical freight supplier for movement by truck and rail.
  • Carry out various administrative components related to freight including, the collection of tickets, approving freight bills, following up on shipments, creating and managing bill of ladings, and generating contract reports.
  • Negotiate competitive freight rates and schedules.
  • Research market rates for appropriate geographical areas and destinations.
  • Work with the Merchant team to determine rate structure requirements to maximize sales margin and volume.
  • Generate monthly rate analysis reports.
  • Become familiar with trading documents, trade execution and payment terms.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in logistics or supply chain management, demonstrating a solid understanding of industry practices and protocols.
  • Experience or knowledge in the agricultural industry is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Application Suite, with a high proficiency in Excel.
