As the Logistics Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the shipping and movement of commodities by truck and rail in the most efficient manner while expediting the execution of contractual commitments.

Your day to day activities will include:

  • Ensure precise execution of contractual commitments
  • Run outstanding contract reports and manage monthly purchase/sales movement accordingly
  • Communicate with external customers to discuss and assess shipping/scheduling needs
  • Determine and select the most economical freight supplier for movement by truck and rail
  • Carry out various administrative components related to freight including, but not limited to the collection of tickets, approving freight bills, following up on shipments, creating bill of ladings, managing unused bill of ladings and generating contract reports
  • Negotiate competitive freight rates and schedules
  • Research market rates for appropriate geographical areas and destinations
  • Work with the Merchant team to determine rate structures requirements to maximize both sales margin and volume
  • Generate monthly rate analysis reports
  • Become familiar with trading documents, trade execution and payment terms
The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain
  • Knowledge of the agricultural industry is considered an asset
  • Excellent customer service and strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and high proficiency in Excel)
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
