With three main departments, Integrated Human Services, Paramedic Services, and Administration, and over 200 employees, we service a large geographical area totaling 45,000 square km. The Opportunity:
We are currently looking for a driven individual to join our team as a Logistics Coordinator with our Paramedic Services Department.:
In this position you will::
Direct and manage the logistical responsibilities by ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with all applicable legislation, regulations, standards and policy.:
Assist in the execution of the Annual Business Plan.:
Assist with the development of the annual operating and capital budgets for Paramedic Services and other Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB Departments where necessary.:
Monitor changes in Legislation, policies, guidelines, best practices and benchmarks governing areas of responsibility and determine impacts and requirements for changes to ensure continued service compliance and continuous quality improvement.:
Help to develop, implement and evaluate policy and procedures.:
Research and evaluate advances in medical devices, practices and procedures.:
Assess the benefit and associated costs of implementation and make recommendations.:
Help develop, implement and manage a comprehensive fleet and equipment preventative maintenance program for vehicles and equipment from across the Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB.:
Develop and maintain an effective equipment retrieval program.:
Prepare specifications for the purchase of vehicles, apparatus equipment, stations.:
Help negotiate and advocate for maintenance initiatives with external sources and is accountable for ensuring certification and licensing standards are met.:
Oversee the procurement and issuance of uniforms, equipment and pharmaceuticals within budget allocations and collective agreement language.:
Conduct confidential investigations into issues related to fleet and equipment utilization, provide evidence, prepare findings in an accepted format and make recommendations for system improvement.:
Develop, implement and monitor performance measures to evaluate programs effectiveness and efficiency.:
Help develop policies and protocols related to all aspects of fleet and vehicle safety.:
Provide assessment of system compliance and recommendation to the Deputy Chiefs for performance management.:
Participate in the design and implementation of special projects.:
Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.:
Perform other related duties as may be required.:
Qualifications and Specific Skills:
Education:
Undergraduate degree in business or related field, or a post-secondary education in supply management, fleet services, logistics discipline.:
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in overseeing fleet and equipment, or public services/health care sector experience:
Experience as a Primary or Advanced Care Paramedic would be considered an asset.:
Extensive Knowledge Of:
Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB priorities and Strategic Plan.:
Applicable legislation and related regulations including but not limited to The Ambulance Act, The Highway Traffic Act, Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.:
Current and emerging management issues with Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB as they affect Paramedic Services.:

Annual Salary: $74,295 - $86,914 (35 hours per week):
