Reports to the Warehouse ManagerKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Source carriers to meet customer demand at rates that meet or exceed financial targets. Exceed customer on-time pick-up and delivery expectations; proactive analysis to prevent service failure (70%)
  • Build Customer Relationships: Consistent and professional communications; effective, prompt and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations, relaying service failures, problem solving etc. (10%)
  • Carrier Relationship: Productive carrier relationship development, AP Discrepancy resolution, cover loads, handling and management of difficult situations, etc. (10%)
  • Liaise effectively with sales and administrative personnel to ensure interdepartmental communication is timely and accurate (10%)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receiving/coordinating orders from customers and scheduling deliveries accordingly
  • Manage the pick-ticket process - code, highlight and sort pick tickets as they print
  • Liaise with production on order priorities
  • Liaise with shipping on urgent requirements
  • Liaise with sales on order updates, issues and ETA's
  • Verify that OPEN PICK TICKETS are accounted for through Open Pick Ticket Report
  • Planning/forecasting deliveries with sales team, operations and carriers
  • Overseeing ticketing & reporting processes
  • Providing direction and training (driver orientations) for people new to the quarry
  • Working with carriers and internal sales team to provide competitive pricing and ensure accurate invoicing
  • Working with carriers/customers in the event of an incident, including assistance with incident investigation & documentation
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication with all vendors, customers, and internal resources.
  • Maintaining ticketing & reporting processes
  • Coordinate with sales regarding inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Enter material receipts into company ERP system and file necessary quality documents.
  • Material handling, inventory allocation, and general assembly assistance.
  • Complete incoming inspection on raw material, hardware and finished goods. Tag and allocate as necessary.
  • Packaging, preserving, and crating of high-quality products for shipment to customers.
  • Shop and/or equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma required,
  • Post-secondary education in Logistics/Supply Chain, or industry accreditation preferred
  • 5 years experience in a Logistics / Planning & Scheduling position required
  • Strong computer skills: proficient in the Microsoft Office suites (specifically MS Excel).
  • Mechanical aptitude, including knowledge and use of hand tools and forklifts.
  • Industry Expertise (Transportation industry knowledge, including key terminology; and general knowledge of primary customer industries)
  • Experience with Transportation Management software
  • Geographical Expertise (Geographical understanding of the continental US and Canada).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills and able to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a team or autonomously.
  • Self motivated and displays willingness to learn.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing work environment.
  • Able to maintain a positive and supportive attitude
  • Eager to learn and grow within the company
  • First Aid certification an asset
