Safe & Secure Locksmith Ltd. is hiring for an

on-call locksmith position

as needed.
The successful candidate will report directly to the

Locksmith Foreman

and will be responsible for maintaining the security of all assigned buildings, facilities, and properties through the proper installation, repair, and management of locks, keys, and door hardware.
Carpentry support duties may also be required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Install, maintain, and repair

door locks, hardware, and electronic wheelchair access systems

. Open and repair

jammed filing cabinets, lockups, and secured compartments

. Cut, issue, and maintain accurate records of

keys and key distribution

. Maintain and update a

database of locks, locations, and shop drawings

. Assist with carpentry work related to locks, doors, frames, and hardware installation. Operate tools, machinery, and equipment required for the locksmith trade. Respond to

emergency service calls

as required. Perform daily inspection and operation of a

service vehicle

. Carry out other comparable duties that fall within the required skills, knowledge, and abilities of this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Completion of

Grade 12

.

Apprenticeship and/or Trades Qualification Certificate - Locksmith

, preferably combined with a Carpentry Trade Certification and/or two years of carpentry experience. Minimum

two years of related locksmith experience

in an industrial or commercial setting. Valid

B.C. Driver's License

. Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of

Building, Fire, and Life Safety Codes

, as well as current locksmith standards, practices, and tools. Strong communication skills with the ability to use tact and professionalism when exchanging information. Ability to determine appropriate actions and make decisions within established procedures. Skilled in the use of locksmith trade tools and equipment. Ability to read and interpret

blueprints, shop drawings, and work sketches

. Basic working knowledge of computers and digital record-keeping. Physical ability to perform all required duties of the position.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
