Our expectations:

Reporting to the Director, Direct Delivery Centre, the Location Manager manages daily operations in a Direct Delivery Center (DDC) for the Vaudreuil location (Lumber Yard environment). They are responsible for Operations Managers\' performance, budget, and execution of all operations functions at the facility, including:

  • Developing and executing daily and weekly operational plans;
  • Meeting and exceeding customer service requirements;
  • Maximizing quality, throughput, and productivity of the facility;
  • Managing a diverse employee population;
  • Nurturing a positive employee relations, focused, safe, and productive work environment;
  • Ensuring all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to and short- and long-term plans are implemented.
Your role:
  • Ensure efficiency and productivity to build a best-in-class Direct Delivery Centre
  • Develop and execute daily and weekly operational plans that that meet or exceed customer service expectations while achieving maximum operating efficiency and maximizing budget
  • Set financial goals and productivity objectives for the Direct Delivery Center
  • Ensure financial success by meeting or exceeding financial targets and following up on maintenance costs and investments
  • Identify and drive new opportunities to improve productivity and performance based on best practices in warehouse management
  • Coordinate all activities in order to staff, organize, and lead DDC operations to effectively manage the receipt, storage, loading and shipment of products to stores
  • Partner with support staff to ensure effective utilization of DDC resources
  • Ensure operations meet and improve upon current company standards for quality and productivity
  • Develop, analyze, and recommend operational and systemic improvements to meet current and future service, throughput, and cost objectives
  • Ensure that operational components of the DDC budget are met
  • Develop and implement short- and long-range staffing plans based on productivity objectives and forecasted volume requirements
  • Balance labour availability and volume requirements throughout the facility daily
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and retain effective shift management teams
  • In conjunction with HR and Engineering, develop, implement, and measure effectiveness of new employee training programs
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are implemented and observed, and that equipment and work areas are neat, clean and well-organized
  • Inspect the physical condition of the DDC and equipment daily, directing necessary maintenance and/or repair
The qualifications we are looking for:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of progressive management experience within a large-volume delivery centre environment
  • Ability to develop and lead a high-performing team
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with others
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively lead projects from inspection to implementation
  • Ability to make solid decisions quickly based on limited information and changing conditions
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and creatively resolve complex problems
  • Strong computer skills; experience with software applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with an integrated warehouse management system (WMS) and transport management system (TMS)
  • Effective work-prioritization and time-management skills
  • Proven record for complying with safety requirements, and ability to build a culture of safety among subordinates and peers
