Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials within a designated area while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation, safety protocols, and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles to transport freight and materials to various locations safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
• Assist in the maintenance of vehicles by performing basic automotive repairs as needed.
• Operate heavy equipment or forklifts when required for loading or unloading tasks.

Requirements

• A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required; over 1 year of experience in commercial driving is a plus.
• Proven experience operating heavy equipment or forklifts is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair is desirable to assist with vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
• A commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
