We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting refrigerated goods within the local area, ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, as well as adherence to safety regulations. The Local Driver will play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to excellent service and operational efficiency. Due to the farming season weather, there may be extra hours for work, with more sunshine.
Duties
Safely operate company vehicle to transport Refridgerated freight to designated locations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Be able to use in truck ELD to record inspections and trailer number.
Sleeper Truck is an Automatic. Fuel Card included for Truck as needed.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
Report immediately any repairs or issues with the truck.
At all times, treat everyone you interact with, with respect and communicate clearly and effortlessly.
Experience
Minimum 2 years daily previous experience in Class 1 driving, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record. NO LMIA positions. Only Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident position currently available.
Prior experience with Reefer controls, freight handling procedures and safety protocols is essential.
Understanding the mechanics of a truck or maintenance is a plus, enabling the driver to perform minor repairs on the road.
WHIMIS, and First Aid are a bonus. Safety on the road and safe loads are of utmost importance.
