Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and equipment within local areas, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance. Duties

Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight, heavy equipment, and materials within designated local routes Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning Assist with automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues when necessary Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation activities Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients to coordinate deliveries and pickups Ensure the security of freight during transit and at delivery sites

Experience

Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid driver's license suitable for operating heavy vehicles Experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment preferred Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols Basic automotive repair skills are a plus Prior experience in logistics or transportation industries is advantageous Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various conditions
