Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local DZ Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and equipment within local routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, utilizing various skills including commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles, including trucks and vans, to transport freight within local areas. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hand tools. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when necessary, including forklifts and other machinery. Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to maintain vehicle functionality. Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reports for each trip. Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse staff to coordinate deliveries and pickups.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Experience in commercial driving and freight transportation preferred. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts; certification is a plus. Knowledge of automotive repair basics to perform minor maintenance or troubleshoot issues. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and safety procedures. Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks when necessary. Excellent time management skills to ensure on-time deliveries within local routes. Prior experience operating heavy equipment is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
