As ATB\'s next Loan Syndications Analyst, you will work with clients and assist bankers to provide advice (including modeling, opportunity assessment, and deal structuring), and maintain and nurture client relationships through ongoing client portfolio maintenance and portfolio monitoring.

The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the Directors, VP, and Associate Directors in the Loan Syndications group, and assisting in the preparation of required documents, market data, and critical information
  • Support the execution and closing of complex loan transactions, including, but not limited to; new deals, refinancing, amendments, acquisition financings, and re-pricings
  • Creating and maintaining macro and industry databases
  • Drafting industry, sector, and company reports and presentations for internal use and external client meetings
  • Special projects to support new business generation
  • Perform review and monitoring of financial covenants and other financial metrics
  • Drafting lender consent requests and distributing relevant documentation
  • Distributing financial information/data relevant to existing transactions
  • Review internal loan related documents and notices for accuracy and completeness and provide the Back Office with all necessary information/instruction for loan/fee booking
  • Liaise and coordinate pre-closing requirements with internal and external stakeholders (ie: Know Your Client, Satisfaction of Conditions Precedent, and credit approvals
  • Assist internal colleagues with fee documentation and recognition.

  • Banking Industry Domain Knowledge: Corporate and/or Commercial Lending
  • Banking Industry Domain Knowledge: Loan Syndications and/or Debt Capital Markets
Interpersonal Skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members and senior management across and within the lines of business with a keen attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills, and strong analytical capability.
  • Ability to operate in a challenging and rapidly changing environment with a desire to accept new assignments and the ability to learn new principles and dynamic systems quickly.
  • Critical decision-making abilities including the ability to identify, escalate, and propose solutions to problems.
  • Ability to multi-task through the practice of strong organizational and time management skills.
Lending and Underwriting
  • Understanding of the Loan product / Syndicated Loan business, including an understanding of a credit agreement, loan funding mechanics, deal structure, etc.
  • Understanding and practice using data room platforms (Syndtrak, Debtdomain, Intralinks)
Accreditation
  • Undergraduate degree plus 1-3 of Corporate Banking/Syndicated Loan experience or equivalent knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint or Google Suite
