We are looking to hire an experienced full-time Load Planner for our London, Ontario terminal. The Load Planer is responsible for supporting our operations team with daily tasks to ensure freight is moving efficiently and cost-effective manner. NB: This role embodies an exceptional career opportunity for a person familiar with the transportation industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Determine the most efficient and economical route. Utilize optimization software and determine the most cost-effective routes and freight movement which fully meet the customer service requirements while maximizing profit. Review previous day's loads for success and failures and provide metrics. Initiate investigations into causes of damage or shortages of consignments. Organize and consolidate LTL shipments into delivery runs to facilitate improved transit times and customer service while reducing transportation expenses. Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery, reporting issues to warehousing and procurement. Provide outstanding customer service based on timely and accurate feedback to appropriate questions relative to assigned duties. Assist stakeholders in resolving issues regarding loading, unloading, appointments, unplanned accessorial and communicate to appropriate parties as necessary. Analyze existing shipping processes for possible improvements and provide support for various implementation plans. All other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the Manager.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Load Planner or similar is considered a strong asset. A strong geographic knowledge of the area is required. Well-organized, punctual, and computer literate--with an emphasis on spreadsheets and email applications relevant to logistics. Previous experience in the transportation industry, or a related administrative role is preferred. Thorough understanding of transportation regulations and best practices. Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
