True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a creative and motivated individual to join our Entertainment Marketing team. Reporting to the Director, Entertainment Marketing, the Live Entertainment Marketing Specialist will be responsible for promoting all entertainment events, managing media and community interaction, while helping to maximize event revenue and increasing the profile of our venues within the event industry, community, and online.



What to be excited for in this role:
  • Assist in creating and executing successful marketing campaigns and promotions for shows and events at Canada Life Centre & Burton Cummings Theatre.
  • Manage venue social media channels and digital engagement designed to increase followers and event awareness, including strategic planning, content development, and execution.
  • Manage and execute paid social and digital media campaigns, regularly monitoring performance analytics/results and where necessary, redirecting budgets to different platforms.
  • Assist in the creation of newsletters for a variety of audiences, including presale and on sale notices, discount offerings and general interest content.
  • Regularly update content on all website and social media channels.
  • Manage inventory of creative for all events utilizing the digital filing system.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of press releases internally and to local media.
  • Support efforts and create materials to assist with non-hockey group sales, sponsorship or other sales support functions as required.
  • Develop and create engaging promotional content for different customer segments and platforms to market upcoming events.
  • Maintain and develop partnerships with media, and key community and strategic partners.
  • Act as a media escort at non-hockey events.
  • Create post-event marketing recap analysis to identify success, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned, from time to time.





What we need from you:


  • A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in marketing or communications, with a minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience in a fast-paced role or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • A passion for live event promotion, concerts, and music.
  • Comprehensive marketing and promotion knowledge with strong emphasis on digital and social media marketing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent proficiency in a variety of computer software programs is an asset, including Photoshop (saving/editing images for web), InDesign, Google Analytics, Wordpress, etc.
  • Ability to stay up to date on related entertainment marketing and digital marketing trends.
  • Familiarity with content management systems is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and display sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects and competing demands in a dynamic work environment.
  • Maintain healthy working relationships with all other True North departments.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Flexible with working evenings, weekends, and holidays on an as needed basis.
