About the Role




As a

Liquids/Gas Pipeline Engineer,

you will play a crucial role in implementing and supporting the DNV Synergi Pipeline Hydraulics software portfolio focusing on Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS). You will work on hydraulic pipeline simulation models from project initiation phases to maintaining and interacting with mature operational systems. This includes performing engineering activities for natural gas, petrochemical/liquid transmission and gathering systems for planning and analysis needs, as well as configuration, implementation, and event investigation of real time transient models for leak detection systems. Daily collaboration with other DNV team members and clients will be crucial to provide technical solutions to meet client objectives.


What you will do




Apply Engineering Principles: Utilize intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices, particularly in hydraulic analysis, to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions Advanced Techniques: Employ advanced techniques and modify theories and practices in the field of hydraulic engineering. Technical Projects: Participate in technical projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer, taking on technical problems and applying methods to resolve important questions Data Collection and Interpretation: Collect and interpret data for pipeline systems to be modeled, ensuring accuracy and reliability Pipeline Model Development: Develop and tune pipeline models for steady state and transient studies for single-phase liquids and gas piping systems Simulation and Analysis: Perform simulations and interpret results from the pipeline models to provide actionable insights Proposal and Scope Preparation: Assist with the preparation of proposals and scopes of work for potential implementation and model building engagements Cost Estimation: Assist with cost estimates for engineering projects, ensuring budget adherence Documentation: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports and documentation to support project objectives Scope Management: Identify potential out-of-scope activities on engineering projects and manage them effectively Engineering Tasks: Perform engineering tasks as required and assigned by Project Managers for assigned projects Training and Support: Provide product and solution training and customer support to ensure successful implementation and usage Sales and Marketing Support: Support sales and marketing activities for the product line, contributing to business growth Collaboration: Work independently and effectively collaborate with remote project team members in other time zones and offices.

About you



What is required



BS in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering Recent grad or up to 5 years work experience in civil and/or hydraulic engineering in an operating utility and/or consulting/engineering firm with online real time experience and/or hydraulic modeling experience Excellent written and oral English communication skills Excellent organizational skills Working knowledge of MS Office applications or related software Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support Synergi Gas, Synergi Liquids and SPS project engagements We conduct pre-employment background screening

Preferred Skills



Experience with the Synergi Gas, Synergi Pipeline Simulation Software (SPS) or similar hydraulic modelling software Experience working with computer models of pipeline systems Experience with Python and/or other scripting languages Experience with IT and installations Familiarity with SCADA technology as deployed within the Pipeline industry Working knowledge of databases. Able to setup basic queries in applications such as Oracle or Access. Experienced in the use of at least one Geographic Information System (GIS) application. Basic knowledge of GIS.
