We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook in Italian Cuisine to join our vibrant kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a commitment to providing exceptional food service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices.
Cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure all food handling and sanitation procedures are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Assist in the management of inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift.
Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices as needed.
Experience
Previous experience in meal preparation or as a cook in an italian restaurant or food service setting is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques is essential.
Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures within the food industry.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills in food preparation and cooking.
