We are looking for a dependable and motivated

Line Cook

to join our kitchen team. You will work under the guidance of our experienced Japanese chef and contribute to preparing high-quality Japanese dishes.

Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Stock refrigerators and salad bars Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs Place dishes in storage area Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit Scour pots and pans Package take-out food Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred

Languages:

English Japanese (preferred, not mandatory)

Personal Suitability:

Organized Dependable Reliable Passionate about food and cooking

Security and Safety:

Must pass a criminal record check

Fast-paced environment Able to work under pressure Physically demanding tasks (e.g., heavy lifting, extended standing) Attention to detail Standing for extended periods

Noisy Odours (food preparation) Non-smoking

Position Details:

Part-time or full-time position available Workdays: Wednesday to Sunday (noon and evenings) Competitive hourly wage based on experience Staff meals provided Opportunity for internal growth
