About Us:


Summerhill Market is a boutique grocery store chain in Toronto that specializes in scratch-made prepared foods and on-trend ingredients. Our stores go above and beyond a typical grocery store by offering an extensive rotating selection of ready to eat gourmet meals, freshly baked goodies, and curated hard to find groceries.


Summerhill Market is looking for a motivated and skilled Cook with at least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment. If you have a flair for creating visually appealing and mouth-watering dishes, we want to hear from you!


Key Responsibilities:

Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet high standards Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, portion sizes, and quality expectations Collaborate with fellow team members to maintain efficient kitchen operations and smooth service flow Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, including proper use of tools and equipment Follow all health and safety regulations for food preparation, storage, and sanitation Assist with inventory management by tracking ingredients and supplies Take on leadership tasks such as coordinating shift assignments and mentoring junior staff Proactively identify and solve challenges in the kitchen, both independently and as part of a team.

Skillset requirements:

Ability to work well with others and be part of a team Proper rotation of ingredients and inventory Ability to use scales to weigh foods and proper operation of equipment Assist as required with packaging and pricing Expert knowledge of products, preparation, and safe handling Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds or less Ability to follow written and oral instructions Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
