We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. We are a Nigerian restaurant and we seek someone with the ability to make multicultural ethnic food or the ability to learn using local and international spices unique to Nigerian dishes. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment, ensuring food safety standards are met, and delivering exceptional service to our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals eager to develop their skills in the food industry.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and quality standards
Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
Cook menu items efficiently while maintaining consistency and presentation standards
Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to safety and sanitation regulations
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment throughout shifts
Support the kitchen team during busy periods by assisting with various tasks as needed
Follow food safety guidelines at all times to prevent contamination or spoilage
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders and excellent guest service
Skills
Experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
Knowledge of food handling safety protocols and sanitation standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen equipment usage
Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward collaboration
Familiarity with the food industry standards for quality and safety
we require minimum of 2 years of proven cooking experience in a fast-paced environment, OR an equivalent combination of experience and a culinary certificate/diploma.
Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, willingness to learn is essential
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
