2 PART TIME Cooks required for 66-bed Long Term Care home!

Preference will be given to individuals who are certified or currently enrolled in Culinary Management, Red Seal, or Cook I or II from a recognized institution; and/or have successfully completed their Food Handlers Certificate from Public Health Unit and is current; Covid Vaccination. Police check and TB testing required. Will consider applicants with extensive restaurant experience

DUTIESinclude: Prepping and preparing all meal items as outlined in 3 week cyclic menu, including texture modifications - general sanitation of cooks area- garbage removal, light sweeping/mopping; receiving and putting away food deliveries, Must be able to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions. Must have reliable transportation (no publictransportation offered) Must demonstrate proper food preparation and presentation for a variety of cultural preferences. Must be knowledgeable about the Long-Term Care Act Must be knowledgeable of special, therapeutic, and texture modified diets Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift. Must be able to work accurately, quickly, and safely. Must be an effective team player that works well with others. Must be able to work and communicate effectively
Shifts are blend of 6:30am-2:30pm and/or 10am-6pm, plus call ins for sick/vacation, etc; every other weekend off

Pay: From $21.52 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
