Line Cook/prep Cook

Job Description

Pine & Thistle Kitchen + Bar is looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact chef's specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the food & beverage manager with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.

Responsibilities



Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Handle ingredients carefully to prevent unnecessary waste. Answer, report and follow executive or food & beverage manager instructions Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed. Collaborate with the rest of the culinary team to ensure the delivery of the best possible product. Clean up station and take care of leftover food Stock inventory appropriately Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Experience & Qualifications



High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma preferred. 2+ years cooking experience, including fast-food or fast-casual restaurants Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures preferred Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. Familiar with industry's best practices. Ability to follow instructions without necessarily knowing them High level of professionalism. Ability to work well as a team member in a fast-paced environment Ability to perform a variety of tasks within the scope of a restaurant job Positive attitude and excellent communication skills Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent verbal communication and organization skills. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time on a regular basis.

Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour
