Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our small cafe team. This role is essential in preparing high-quality dishes and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, food safety practices, and experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment would be useful, but if not, must be willing to learn. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and contribute to a positive dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and assist in meal preparation according to recipes and standards Cook and assemble dishes efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures to ensure cleanliness and hygiene Assist with food plating, garnishing, and portioning to meet restaurant specifications Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and utensils throughout shifts Support kitchen staff during busy periods, ensuring timely service delivery Adhere to all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation

Skills

Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service roles within a restaurant or food industry setting is helpful but not necessary Knowledge / willingness to learn of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Understanding of meal preparation processes and kitchen operations Teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff Basic knowledge/willingness to learn of serving practices and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 35 per week
