We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Hawaiian food and committed to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role involves preparing ingredients, breaking down fish, cooking dishes, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, working with fresh fish and measuring spices.
Ensure all food handling and safety guidelines are followed to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
Help with inventory management by tracking stock levels and notifying management of shortages.
Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setting up workstations and closing down at the end of shifts.
Skills
Proficient in food handling techniques and understanding of food safety regulations.
Experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not required.
Strong ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen staff.
Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures is an advantage.
