Chef Michael Dacquisto is looking for serious cooks to join his growing team of culinary stars. Alena Rustic Italian, a busy Italian restaurant in Charleswood, is where we make magic with wood fired pizza's, a wood grill and authentic pastas.
We are seeking skilled and passionate Line Cooks to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Italian food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic dining environment, delivering high-quality meals with precision and creativity. Candidates with experience in upscale casual dining, catering, or the food industry are encouraged to apply. Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
Assist in menu planning and development to ensure variety and quality
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines
Operate kitchen equipment efficiently, including knives, ovens, stoves, and other appliances
Support food service operations by plating dishes promptly and accurately
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen workflow during busy periods
Assist with catering events or special functions as needed
Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or related roles within a restaurant or food service environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
Experience with menu planning and fine dining presentation is preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
Knowledge of dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus
Previous experience in catering or serving is advantageous
Culinary experience that demonstrates creativity and professionalism in food presentation
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
