We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook with a passion for authentic Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing traditional Indian dishes, knowledge of spices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes (curries, tandoori items, biryanis, breads, appetizers, etc.) according to recipes and restaurant standards.
Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation of all food served.
Set up and stock stations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
Assist with receiving and storing food supplies.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
Support other kitchen staff and collaborate with chefs to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and portion control as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a line cook, commis chef, or kitchen assistant (experience with Indian cuisine preferred).
Knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and regional dishes.
Ability to work in a team and under pressure in a busy kitchen.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Food safety certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Willingness to learn and adapt to the restaurant's menu and standards.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in a hot and fast-paced environment.
