Summary
This Line Cook position at Bytown Catering will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our clients. This role requires an experienced and reliable Breakfast Cook to prepare high-quality, nutritious breakfast meals for our clients. This role requires strong culinary skills, a passion for food service, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be punctual, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and customer satisfaction. Located in Kanata at Kinaxis, this position is essential for maintaining our reputation for quality and service excellence.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve food items including eggs, meats, pastries, cereals, fruits, and specialty dishes according to standardized recipes.
Ensure all food is handled safely and meets health regulations.
Set up, stock, and maintain workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment.
Ensure meals are prepared on-time and monitor food presentation & portion control to ensure consistency and quality.
Provide excellent customer service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and serving areas.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during events.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report needs to management.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating kitchen supplies.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen including kitchen equipment and utensils.
Collaborate with Head Chef and Sous Chef to plan menus and accommodate dietary restrictions and/or special requests.
Qualifications
Proven experience in serving, cooking, or food preparation roles.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is an asset.
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques is preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 44 per week
