on days at our Alexandria Moulding Calgary Distribution Center to join our VALUES based organization. The Lift Truck Operator operates forklifts to stack and retrieve goods, supplies and materials. Monitor products and keep an accurate record of overall activities, transport materials within allotted time and schedule, and maintain communication and coordination with co-workers and supervisors.
Job Duties and Essential Functions
:
Operates a sit-down or stand-up forklift to move parts throughout the distribution area
Uses automate systems and RF units to pull, put away and load customer product, in addition to managing inventory
Train in all aspects of warehousing, shipping, receiving using WMS
Receive parts from the manufacturers and scan parts into the inventory using warehouse management system (WMS)
Determine require pallet count to meet the statistical receiving requirements.
Operate tools (hand truck, forklift, dollies, hand jack), distribute materials to their designate departments.
Load, unload, pack and unpack materials
Label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments
Prepare the paperwork required for the distribution and shipping of products
Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested
Receive goods into inventory and place product in appropriate stock location
Process scrap material for recycling
Assist with quality control issues and remains accountable for results
Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids and boxes
Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move product through facility ensuring timely and accurate delivery
Setup, operator or tend various pieces of equipment
Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking.
Relocate items within the warehouse
Wrap orders and place them on trucks for delivery
Other duties as assigned.

and Physical Demands:
Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the Warehouse, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing uneven walking surfaces.
Capable of physically demanding work and standing for extended periods.
Bend, stoop, reach, twist, squat, push, pull, move, and lift to 50lbs.
Warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy.
Fluctuations of temperature are common, some outdoor exposure during the workday/
Wet floors may occur during rainy or snowy weather or at other times depending on what has transpired in the environment (i.e., cleaning of floors....).
Sharp and/or rough edges will typically be encountered.
Warehouse equipment and treated lumber may emit fumes.
Some equipment may require electric voltage.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.
Required credentials:
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience
Prior lumber experience desired
Experience operating forklifts, pallet movers and other material handling equipment
Lift truck certification an asset
Must have basic math and analytical skills
Must be computer literate, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of 5s an asset
Self-started, pro-active and able to take initiative
Basic familiarity with construction tools and equipment
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work duties as required
Valid driver's license
Understanding and willingness to maintain HSE standards
