About the role



The role of a Lifeguard offers an exceptional opportunity within our Red Lake Operations (RLO), taking responsibility for supporting Social Responsibility programs and communications within the geographic area of Red Lake Operations. This includes neighbouring local and First Nations Communities, government, and non-government agencies. Stakeholder engagement is a large focus of the work, and this position will require a good understanding of current and future plans of the company and an ability to effectively communicate, solicit feedback, and represent the company to relevant stakeholders.



The position will be on casual basis and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary and future growth.

Key result areas in this role include:

Supervising swimmers during a variety of pool related activities

Always maintain the safety of customers

Provide education to prevent incidents from occurring

Be familiar with emergency procedures for the pool and be able to carry out safe rescues and administer first aid, when required

Maintain good customer relations through positive interactions with participants

Perform varies cleaning tasks and other duties, as assigned.



About you



As the Recreational Centre Lifeguard, you should be 16 years of age or older, have an up-to-date National Lifesaving Lifeguard Certification and a current Standard First Aid Certification. It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:



A highly positive and enthusiastic character

Good communication skills

Good emergency response and critical thinking skills

Experience with children is an asset.
