Statement of Purpose: To provide counselling, teaching and support to the PLUS Program participants within the Mission and the Vision statement of The Salvation Army Broadview Village.

Regular Work Schedule Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00 pm 35 hours/week

A PROGRAM AND SERVICE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Act as a role model for all participants as reflected by appearance, behaviour and attitude

2) Establish and maintain purposeful, effective and appropriate professional counselling relationships.

3) Provide individualized counselling services to assigned caseload of 26-30 individuals within the rehabilitation model, philosophy, and policies of the agency

4) Design and implement a goal-oriented rehabilitation plan with the individuals supported at PLUS

5) Know and respond to the safety and health care of participants

6) Provide crisis intervention, supportive counselling and advocacy

7) Provide teaching in a group setting and /or 1:1 as needed

8) Instruct and supervise participants in performing work activities on assigned lines within the workfloor shop

9) Assign participants to work activities based on the production need an on individual's goals and needs

10) Be responsible for the supervision of workfloor on assigned shifts

11) Provide services typically described as case management in the absence of any other support and based on participant's needs

12) Coordinate and consult with other professionals involved in the participant's circle of supports; and make referrals to access resources and supports in the sector and/or community

13) Demonstrate professional behavior as outlined in the agency's Policies and Procedures and in the Social Work Code of Ethics

14) Document and maintain records as required

15) Provide ideas and feedback on program content

16) Follow and promote the agency Mission, and program Philosophy

17) Encourage active participation of program participants



B STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Maintain effective communication

2) Being responsible for professional-self development

3) Participate in Providing orientation and support to individuals, volunteers and new staff

4) Provide support and guidance to co-workers, placement students and/or volunteers

5) Represent PLUS participants and staff on committees and at other meetings as delegated

6) Attend and participate in meetings and staff development training at the discretion of the Management team of The Salvation Army Broadview Village-PLUS program

7) Actively participate in meetings and be receptive to feedback

8) Demonstrate organizational skills when planning Life Skills groups and Meal Preparation for PLUS Program & Meals that Heal Program

9) Follow task lists or schedules

C WORKPLACE, FACILITY ORGANIZATION

1) Adherence to individual safety plans and /or protocols

2) Ensure the general PLUS facility appearance is clean and tidy before the shift is completed

3) Maintain and account for use of Program Funds

4) Adhere to safe food handling practices when facilitating the lunch preparation



D HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Comply with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations

2) Adhere to agency's Health & Safety Policies and program

3) Complete daily walkthroughs/inspections of site as assigned

4) Report/Complete and forward maintenance requisition forms to main office

5) Report accidents/injuries/workplace hazards in a timely manner

6) Responsible of agency's vehicles, equipment and property

7) Follow the principles of NVCI Philosophy

8) Ensure that participants are following appropriate protocols and processes that are in adherence to the health and safety program and OHSA regulations

9) Problem solve and ensure effective working relations with PLUS customers

Work Location: 150 Railside Road, Toronto Ontario M3A 1A3
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $26.07 to $28.12 with a maximum of $30.17.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
