GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Team Lead, Licensed Security Professional the Licensed Security Professional (LSP) protects premises, assets and personnel of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC). The Licensed Security Professional (LSP) maintains a high visibility presence to ensure maintain and improve the security of all internal / external stakeholders. The goal is to detect, deter, observe and report.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure security duties are carried out in compliance with all provincial and municipal laws.
• Monitor, patrol, guard and provide security for the RRC including indoor/outdoor surveillance.
• Act as Chief Warden and lead evacuation efforts.
• Be the first responder for all emergency situations including but not limited to first aids, altercations requiring support and external/internal threats.
• Ensure that the proper reporting procedures are followed and documentation completed for all incidents.
• Proactively identify and communicate hazards, near misses and visible infrastructure damage.
• Communicate in a professional manner with patrons, community members, guests, employees and all other internal/external stakeholders.
• Any other duties assigned by the team lead or other organizational leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
• Certification/Diploma in police/criminal studies is an asset.
• Valid AB Security Service Worker License issued by Security Programs at the office of the AB Justice and Solicitor General.
• Current Standard First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (including CPR C).
• Valid AB Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Agency ProTect certificate is an asset.
• Valid AB Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis agency ProServe certificate is an asset.
• Three (3) + years of progressive experience in a Security role.
• Certification/Diploma in police/criminal studies is an asset.
• Experience in law enforcement is an asset.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• This position may require travel between our various facilities within the Wood Buffalo Region. Access to reliable transportation is necessary.
• Valid Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License Required (If traveling, select yes)
• Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector check
