We are currently hiring a temporary, 32 hours per week, full-time Licensed Practical
Nurse (LPN) manager for one our residential homes supporting individuals with complex healthcare needs. Under the overall direction of the Program Director, the LPN

The days and hours of this position will be:



Tuesday 11:00am-7:00pm
Wednesday 8:00am-4:00pm
Thursday 8:00am-4:00pm
Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Start date of 2 January 2026- June 1 2026 (or until incumbent returns)

Job Summary:



Under the overall direction of the Executive Director or Program Director Designate, is responsible for the administration, management and co-ordination of a home. Ensures that operational goals are met and that individuals supported in the home enjoy a full and rich quality of life. The LPN manager is responsible for overseeing planning, fiscal and personnel management of the home, which includes hiring, performance management and discipline. The LPN manager is privy to confidential, labour relation discussions, actively participates in decision making and is responsible for participating in the development of policies and procedures. The LPN Manager, in conjunction with the Registered Nurse, works to maintain all health-related documentation, organizes and leads the training of staff, and assess the health care needs of the individuals in the home. The LPN Manager is able to perform all health care related tasks not restricted to them under the Health Professions Act.

Job Responsibilities:



Organizes and ensures that processes, plans, and programs are designed to meet the needs of the individuals in the home, and within all CLV homes as needed

Is involved with recruitment, interviewing and hiring responsibilities for the entire organization

Is involved in labour relation issues, and works alongside the Human Resources Manager while carrying out duties of a disciplinary nature

Actively involved in representing the employer both in the development of labour relation initiatives and in representing the employer during union meetings

Implements staff scheduling to meet the needs of the home, approves holidays and leaves,

arranges for adequate and safe coverage for all shifts, acts as an emergency contact

after hours

Responsible for all monetary aspects of the home and has financial approval authority: participates in the budget development process, maintains financial records, monitors and reconciles cash flow and all financial transactions, approves the purchase of goods, materials, equipment and capital improvements

Conforms to regulatory requirements such as Licensing and adheres to Community Living Victoria (CLV) policies and procedures

Liaises with relevant health care professionals, social workers, and community agencies (i.e. Public Trustee, Human Resources, CLBC), and maintains positive relationships with family and friends of the individuals in the home

Manages and monitors home and equipment maintenance to ensure the health and safety of individuals and staff

Maintains written documentation on all relevant and essential aspects of operations (i.e.

Individual's records, personnel files, emergency training, care plans)

Assists with and where needed, participates in meeting the daily needs of the individuals such as personal hygiene and care, administration of medications, medical appointments preparation of meals, and community participation and outings

Implements Person Centered Plans, monitors achievement of goals and works with management on the development of operational outcome measures and accreditation issues

Coordinates volunteers and student's practicum

Other related duties as directed by the Executive Director (ED) or Program Managers

LPN Related Responsibilities



Maintains standards of nursing practice and professional behaviour determined by the Health Professions Act

Performs nursing practice described by, and measured against, the BC College of Nurses and Midwives Standards of Practice for practical nurses

Organizes staff training for individual support needs, maintains appropriate health related documentation, assists with health care assessments within the scope of their practice, and liaises with health care professionals including CLV's RN, HSCL, doctors, and specialists

Assists in reviewing and maintaining all health and safety protocols, including the Communicable Disease Prevention Plan

Qualifications:



A Practical Nursing Diploma from an accredited college and a member in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives

A minimum of two years in a managerial position.

Ability to be licensed by Community Care Facilities Licensing

Class IV Driver's License

Skills and Abilities:



Sound knowledge of human resource issues

Ability to motivate, lead and manage staff

Ability to interact effectively with individuals, staff, families, professionals and community

Ability to work independently and make decisions

Demonstrated knowledge of community living principles

Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

Demonstrated ability to work with computers, i.e. email, MS Word, MS Excel, and other software programs such as ShareVision

Working knowledge of implementing and administering a collective agreement

Ability to conduct interviews, provide evaluations and clearly articulate performance expectations, during coaching, training and discipline meetings

Ability to ensure that program delivery is in compliance with Association's policies, procedures and philosophies
