Summary of Responsibilities:



Reporting to the Director of Care, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides high-quality, person-centered care to Home Care and Supportive Living clients at Emmanuel Home. The LPN functions within the full scope of practice as outlined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) and is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of healthcare services in accordance with organizational policies and nursing care standards.

Primary Responsibilities include

(additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor as per operational requirements):

Oversee emergency response Deliver safe, competent, and evidence-based nursing care within scope of practice. Perform data entry for care plans and Home First documentation. Maintain and update accurate resident care records in accordance with Emmanuel Home's records management systems. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support health conditions and care plans. Assess, monitor, report, and document changes in residents' physical, mental, or emotional health. Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Communicating with resident and families as required to ensure needs are met and services are highly satisfactory. Teach, delegate and direct regulated care providers, providing them with coaching and mentorship. Contribute to a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to safety protocols and infection prevention measures.
Qualifications:

Graduate of a recognized Licensed Practical Nurse program. Active registration and in good standing with the CLPNA. Current certification in CPR (Basic Life Support) and First Aid are required. Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems is an asset. Experience in geriatric or supportive living settings is preferred. High level of confidentiality and professional discretion. Strong written and verbal communication in English. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and recordkeeping. Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate and courteous approach. Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. Commitment to continuous learning and development. Team-oriented, adaptable, and proactive.

Notes:



The successful candidate will be required to undergo a security screening for working in the vulnerable sector.
