SCOPE
Acumen Health is an exciting and growing Private Orthopedic Surgery Clinic and Reconditioning Centre. Reporting to the Surgical Manager, this position is to support patients in their journey during post-operative care and prepare them for independence when returning home.
DUTIES
3 to 6 shifts per month running from 9AM to 9PM or 9PM to 9AM (times may vary according to available staffing). These shifts are scheduled in advance.
Overnight post-operative care of 1 to 5 total joint replacement patients (ASA 1 or 2) in an off-site location. All patients will have a companion present.
Educating patients on surgery performed and expectation is important in a private setting
Ensure office policies and procedures are followed Maintain patient's file throughout their journey Take vitals and educate regarding medication Communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary teamQUALITIES
Always have a professional and courteous disposition with patient and team members Have great communication skills Organizational skills are necessary to manage a large amount of detailed information Be able to work individually and part of a team The ability to be flexible in the schedule is a huge benefit to our organization Fast learner and wanting to learn more will be a great fit within our team Minimum 2 years experience preferred as part of a medical team Willingness to learn, time and change management skills Great phone etiquette Knowledgeable in post-op care for total joint replacement patients
