ROLE: Licensed Practical Nurse - Long Term Care | Agency Travel Contract | Salmon Arm, BC Travel Contract 3 - 6 Months Ideal Start Date July 1 Full Time 12 HR shifts $38/hour + $25/ Working Shift Meal Per Diem Travel Provided / Private Accommodations $50/ Month Coffee Allowance $100/ Contract Self Care Allowance AGENCY CONTRACT THROUGH HERO CARE HERO CARE has a proven track record in providing our contract/travel nurses with a variety of exciting, positive and unique working experiences. Our team is now expanding our staffing services to provide contracts to Registered Nurses across Canada! QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse License in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses
  • Current CPR
  • Minimum 1 year experience
  • Vulnerable Sector Check renewed within the year
  • 2 Days, 2 Evenings, 2 Off

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plans and manages patient care according to each patient\xe2\x80\x99s needs.
  • Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
  • Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
  • Provides routine care for patients.
  • Observes patients\xe2\x80\x99 health.
  • Reviews medical charts.
  • Accompanies patients to their rooms.
  • Assists physicians and registered nurses.
  • Communicates with patients and their families.
  • Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler.
  • Prepares specimens for lab courier.
  • Administers medications.
  • Provides wound care.
  • Prepares and administers injections and/or enemas.
  • Assists with patient comfort.
  • Monitor catheters.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Admitting new residents
  • Assisting physicians during rounds of residents\xe2\x80\x99 rooms
  • Assigning and delegating duties to non-licensed nursing staff
  • Monitoring resident care and supervising other nursing staff
  • Performing ongoing assessments of residents\xe2\x80\x99 physical and mental health
  • Explaining procedures and treatment protocols to residents
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Must comply with:
  • Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies
  • Must provide satisfactory vulnerable sector check
  • Must maintain Registered Nurse class license with the Provincial College of Nurses
