Summary of Position:

The position is responsible for all electrical duties in the maintenance, operation, and repair of plant systems. They assist with and perform installation and maintenance tasks to ensure the effective operation of plant equipment.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that the work is in accordance with relevant codes.
• Maintains/trouble shoots PLC, computer software, hardware, and variable speed drives.
• Maintains safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the manager.
• Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
• Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
• Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)

• Must be a Journeyman Electrician, Red Seal preferred.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote the safe and effective operation of plant equipment.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.

Physical Requirements

• Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
• The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
• The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

Rate $48.26 (Grade 14)
