Trinity College School (TCS) is a leading independent boarding and day school located on Michi-Saagiig Anishnaabeg traditional territory, covered by the Williams Treaties, in Port Hope, Ontario -- approximately one hour east of Toronto. Founded in 1865, TCS serves approximately 600 students in Grades 5-12, with a balanced emphasis on academics, service learning, athletics, and the arts.


TCS is seeking its next Library Services Director: an educational leader who will ensure the Senior School (Grades 9-12) library is a welcoming, inclusive space that supports curricular and co-curricular programming while fostering a love of reading and multiple literacies. The director will provide strategic leadership for the library as a central hub of inquiry, innovation, and belonging, in alignment with the School's mission and academic priorities.

Key Responsibilities



Teach information literacy, research skills, and academic integrity to students in Grades 9-12 Collaborate with faculty to design, scaffold, and assess inquiry-based learning and research assignments across subject areas Cultivate a love of reading through collection development, readers' advisory, and dynamic programming Develop a diverse, inclusive print and digital collection that reflects local and global communities and meets curricular needs Maintain an engaging library website that provides virtual access to collections and resources Evaluate and promote digital resources; serve as vendor liaison for both Junior School (Grades 5-8) and Senior School libraries Supervise library support staff collaboratively Partner with Junior School library staff on shared initiatives Manage the Senior School library budget and school-wide copyright licensing Contribute to co-curricular and boarding life programming Teach one course section, subject to qualifications and school needs

Qualifications



Bachelor of Education degree and member of the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing (or equivalent) Master's degree in library and/or information sciences Demonstrated experience working with adolescents Strong understanding of best practices in pedagogy and student wellbeing Experience in developing instructional partnerships with faculty is an asset Familiarity with contemporary educational research and trends

Compensation is based on the Trinity College School faculty grid. The salary range is $63,028-$87,790 for early-career professionals, advancing to $87,002-$121,101 for faculty with significant experience (6+ years). Initial placement on the grid is determined by a review of verified years of experience and credentials.
