Process requests from patients, the public, and BCCA staff for in-house resources by: searching the BCCA library online catalogue and electronic journal holdings; locating and pulling print materials from shelves; locating and obtaining materials held by other BCCA libraries and departments; locating citations in print and electronic journals; printing or photocopying articles; contacting patrons by telephone or email to arrange for delivery or pickup as appropriate.
Mail library material to public patrons and other libraries across BC and the Yukon using the Canada Post Library Materials system.
Maintain circulation files using the Inmagic Genie integrated library software system: register borrowers in the library system; process loans and returns; renews library materials; Identify overdue materials and follows up by notifying borrower by telephone, email or letter.
Process requests from BCCA staff for materials not held in-house by performing inter-library loan (ILL) duties such as: searching for free internet sources; searching the UBC library catalogue and electronic journals database; searching WorldCat, Amicus, LocatorPlus and other online catalogues and databases to find ILL locations; entering requests in the Docline automated ILL program; maintaining circulation records for ILLs.
Travel to UBC\xe2\x80\x99s Biomedical Branch Library at VGH to photocopy journal articles or borrow books as needed.
Process Docline requests from other libraries for BCCA library materials; invoice other libraries as needed; maintain Docline routing tables and Serhold data.
Receive invoices and payments for ILLs, compare invoices to ILL records and provides invoices and payments to the Library Technician for processing.
Track statistics for all ILL and circulation processes using QuickDoc, Genie and manual forms.

Completion of Grade 12 plus one (1) year recent library-related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
You will also have
Ability to type at 35 wpm.
Ability to perform alphanumeric filing.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public and all levels of staff, orally and in writing.
Ability to set priorities and work independently.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
