Your Opportunity:Patient & Family Centred Care (PFCC) enables patients, families and staff to participate in shared decision making and care planning as well as systems design and operational planning. PFCC seeks integration of patient/family perspectives and knowledge with operational/clinical perspectives and expertise and shared commitment to patient safety. The Alberta Children\'s Hospital is a warm and vibrant workplace, with team members, youth, families, staff and physicians partnering together to provide service to the children and families in inpatient units and ambulatory clinics. As a member of the ACH PFCC team, the liaison will support the development and implementation of PFCC engagement strategies at the Alberta Children\'s Hospital, and specifically in our Peer Mentorship and Bedside Connections initiatives. This casual position will report to the Manager of the Family and Community Resource Centre and will work within the PFCC team. The Liaison role is part of the operational team assisting the organization in the integration of PFCC practices, behaviours, and beliefs through education, consultation, support, guidance and leadership. Casual roles are work dependent and will not equate to regular hours of work or a work schedule. Required Qualifications:Applicants must have lived experience as a patient or family member at the Alberta Children\'s Hospital or another pediatric care facility.
Additional Required Qualifications:Other Skills and Experience Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong group facilitation skills. Excellent organizational and coordination skills Capable of working independently and as part of a team Demonstrated ability to respect patient/organizational confidentiality. Excellent professionalism and diplomacy in interaction with other people.
Preferred Qualifications:Other Experience and Special Equipment/Work Aids: Must have strong computer skills. MS office suite (including excel), Outlook e-mail and Calendar are necessary. Experience with other computer applications is an asset. Experience in a professional role and/or setting would be an asset.
