We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Level II Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. This role requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. The Level II Dental Assistant will work closely with dentists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow within the clinic.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols
Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety standards
Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft for efficient patient management
Conduct chairside assisting, including preparing instruments and materials for procedures
Monitor vital signs and provide support during treatments as needed
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary
Stay updated on advancements in dental technology, including the use of 3D scanners
Skills
Proficient in EMR systems, particularly Dentrix and Eaglesoft
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices
Experience with pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and medical terminology
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining patient comfort
Understanding of prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialized areas of dentistry
Competence in medical coding and managing medical records accurately
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced dental clinic environment
