Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with specific expertise in orthodontics and pediatrics. This role requires proficiency in dental software systems such as Epic and Dentrix, as well as a solid understanding of medical terminology. As a Senior Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols. Manage patient records using Epic and Dentrix software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Perform chairside assisting duties for various procedures, including orthodontic treatments. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols. Collaborate with the dental team to improve patient flow and office efficiency. Provide support to the dental receptionist as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant; certification in dental assisting is preferred. Familiarity with orthodontics and pediatrics is highly desirable. Proficient in using dental software systems such as Epic and Dentrix. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role. Previous experience with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) is a plus.
