Eligibility Note: To qualify for a student (Co-op/Internship) opportunity, students must be enrolled in their academic studies at a post-secondary institution (university/college) and must be returning to school after completion of their work term with QuadReal. If you are a student registered in an official co-op program at your post-secondary institution and completion of a final work term is a mandatory component for you to graduate, you are eligible to apply with the understanding that you will leave QuadReal at the end of your work term or have the possibility to be considered for full-time opportunities. Based in Vancouver, the Intern, Legal will work closely with the Legal team on acquisitions, dispositions, financing, joint ventures, corporate and commercial matters, and the ongoing maintenance of a rapidly growing portfolio of real estate assets.

What You Will Experience:

• Support the Legal team with respect to the purchase and sale of real estate assets across multiple jurisdictions, including review and negotiation of legal documentation such as term sheets, agreements of purchase and sale, subscription agreements, partnership and joint venture agreements, development and asset management agreements, construction agreements, non-disclosure agreements and providing due diligence oversight.
• Work closely with QuadReal\xe2\x80\x99s business units, clients, stakeholders, and external counsel on a variety of corporate and commercial matters (including commercial agreements, litigation, environmental, insurance, intellectual property, tax, labour & employment, and other matters), as well as corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with making legal and business decisions in real estate transactions and investments.
• Work with legal counsel on all aspects of real estate investments, including corporate structuring, insurance, environmental and tax matters.
• Develop and maintain legal document precedents, policies, and best practices for the management of real estate investments and better efficiencies within the legal group.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Bring:

• Currently enrolled in an academic program and finishing their first or second year of law school.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in building and handling complicated data sets.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.
• Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple deadlines and competing priorities, and adapt to change and new ideas.
• Proactivity and able to work well in a collaborative environment, with the ability to take guidance but then move projects forward independently.
