The Team

The Role

Neo is looking for a full-time Legal Operations Specialist to join our team in Calgary. In this new position, you'll enable our Legal Team's success by providing day to day support on a variety of matters including project management, contract management, third party vendor management, and knowledge management. As the Legal Operations Specialist, you will support the entire Legal Team to ensure this team is in turn consistently supporting and enabling our business. We are looking for someone who is proactive, willing to learn and able to manage multiple priorities at once. It is expected that over time this role would take on an increasing level of responsibility within the Legal Team.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide project support and general research for matters or initiatives that are led by the Legal Team, for example, new product research, drafting legal templates and streamlining how Legal interacts with and supports the business
  • Support the growing Legal Team on all matters and practice areas affecting Neo and help the team manage internal team priorities such as roadmap planning, budget management and professional development
  • Proactively identify strategies to streamline new or existing processes to allow for improved support by the Legal Team to Neo
  • Take responsibility for contract management, including templates/forms, executed agreements
  • Provide support as required on third party vendor management processes
  • Support Legal Team on development of internal training materials or sessions
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external clients and vendors, and manage information requests
Who we're looking for:
  • You have 2+ years of project management experience or working with a legal team either in private practice or in-house. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in vendor management, contract management or general paralegal support
  • You bring a demonstrated ability to move projects forward independently by gaining the support needed from others while working in a cross-functional capacity
  • You have strong problem-solving skills
  • You have prior experience developing playbooks and policies
  • You're able to work well under pressure in a demanding environment
  • You have an exceptional drive and commitment to strive for excellence
  • You are highly adaptability within a frequently changing environment
