We are looking for 1 legal assistant for one of our partnered law firm companies (full time role). The role involves a mix of family, personal injury (AB and Tort) and insurance law. You only need experience with one of these types of law. There is also a second role as a law clerk on the plaintiff side. This firm is well established in the Toronto and Ontario region. Duties:
Prepare, draft, edit and finalize closing agendas and all transactional documents
Organize and track delivery of documents
Prepare documentation and agreements
Initial drafting of legal correspondence and documents
Manage organization and workflow
Monitor deadlines for multiple files to ensure tasks are completed
Liaise with clients and other lawyers to take instructions, obtain information, and report on status
Qualifications:
3-5+ years of related experience is required
Post-secondary education related to legal administration or related is a strong asset
Experience with Microsoft 365
Experience with iManage and DocuSign
Able to work independently, requiring minimal supervision
Ability to problem-solve with good judgement and decision making
Proficient with Excel
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
