Job Description


Legal Assistants support lawyers directly, and may be required to supervise other legal staff such as legal secretaries or file clerks.Legal Assistants should have computer and technical knowledge as well as strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.Three to five years of legal experience in a law firm or other corporate legal department may be preferred.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Construct correspondence and memorandum

- Seek and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites

- Govern over legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed

- Execute word processing, filing and faxing

- Log computer database input and retrieval

- Be responsible for matter management and record keeping

- Organize e-documents and files

- Gather documents for photocopying/scanning

- Amass documents and assemble data as directed by lawyers and paralegals

- Cross-reference copied documents with originals to ensure accuracy

Requirements

- Conducting routine discovery

- 3+ years of previous legal work experience and a dedication to integrity

- the Supreme Court experience

- Microsoft Office Suites experience

- Earlier work involving Civil Litigation Law Firm

- Good understanding of Civil Litigation Experience

- Experience with Civil Court

- Demonstrated knowledge of court filing

- Civil litigation experience highly preferred

- Adeptness in Court Filings

- General familiarity with Draft Legal Documents

- Practical knowledge of Legal Documentation

- Background working with Civil Litigation Experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of PC Law

- Civil Court experience

- Previous experience working with Civil Litigation

- Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents

- Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database

- Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information

- Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions
