Job Summary
Our growing law firm seeks a full-time Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to our attorneys specializing in Family Law, Estates and Litigation. This role demands a detail oriented and organized individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include client communication, document preparation and management, billing (invoicing and accounting), and case file maintenance.
Document Preparation and Filing:
Assist in the preparation, service and filing of court documents.
Draft correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents as directed by lawyers.
Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical files.
Manage document flow and ensure timely delivery of documents.
Client Communication and Administrative Support:
Client onboarding and ID verification.
Manage billing and invoicing processes.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers.
Assist with office administration tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree, or higher - required.
2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant (or similar role) in a legal environment preferred, but not required.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manipulate electronic documents, compile packages
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
PC Law, Soluno or similar legal accounting software preferred
Experience with tools such as Divorcemate, Estateably, Legal Aid Online, JSO Filing Portal, Adobe, Case Centre an asset.
