Real Estate
Assist in commercial real estate files from opening to closing
Process purchase transactions, prepare mortgages, refinancing and supplemental documents, and prepare interim/final reports
Prepare statement of adjustments, report to mortgagee and purchaser in a timely manner
Prepare sale transactions, trust letters, deposit funds to meet closing date
Maintain client files and diarize critical deadlines, prepare client accounts and correspondence
Utilize conveyancing software to process correspondence related to real estate files
Liaise with realtors, financial institutions, clients and other law firms regarding all aspects of real estate transactions
Build and maintain positive relations with clients, bankers, realtors and other parties integral to the completion of the transactions
Schedule client appointments
Corporate
Handle a range of document/search requests as requests come into the department.
Deficiency review of incoming minute books to identify deficiencies and rectify issues.
Create and maintain minute books both physical and virtual.
Maintain over 600 corporate entities using various databases and keeping accurate records as part of a 3-person corporate team.
Prepare all necessary corporate records and documents for Alberta Societies, Alberta and Federal corporations and non-profit entities including, but not limited to, incorporations, annual returns, amendments, amalgamations, continuances, dissolutions, and revivals, and all necessary resolutions and notices with respect to same.
Draft, revise, and finalize corporate reorganization documents with input from the lawyer.
Draft, revise, and finalize share issuance and financing documents with input from the lawyer.
Filings at Alberta and Federal Corporate Registry.
Competent knowledge of ALF Corporate Software, implementing streamlined document preparation.
Assist in migration and training, as required, of the ALF Corporate Software

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact confidently
Education/Experience Required:
Post-secondary diploma or certificate from an accredited legal assistant program (successful career history will be considered)
Experience in real estate is preferred however we are prepared to train a qualified candidateCORES Certification (I, II or III) would be an asset. Training will be provided to a qualified candidate to obtain the needed CORES Certification
